WHOLE WORLD WEPT: REAL DEAL HEAVY SHIT FROM PHILADELPHIA!!!

Imagen
WHOLE WORLD WEPT - END SUMMER SAMPLER 26 I just spent some time with the new END SUMMER SAMPLER 26 from Philadelphia’s WHOLE WORLD WEPT, and this is exactly the kind of release that hits hard from the first seconds. Three short tracks packed with crushing death metal, slam, deathcore and hardcore energy, with a raw and nasty feel throughout. There’s no wasted time here. GNAW THE PANIC immediately sets the tone with its aggressive attack, while, …EAT THE PAIN pushes the brutality even further before COURT ON THE STREET (OUTRO) closes things out with a dark final hit. The production sounds massive without taking away from the underground character of the music. Only three tracks, but they definitely leave their mark. If you’re into brutal death metal, slam, deathcore and hardcore influenced heaviness, WHOLE WORLD WEPT are worth checking out. Real deal heavy shit from Philadelphia. DECADENCE - OUT OF THE MOUTH OF HELL (2025)

Imagen
I remember posting a very short review of their first album, Into the Mouth of Hell, on the old blog sometime around mid-2014. That record completely blew my fucking mind. It was the kind of genuine ’90s metallic hardcore that instantly took me back to that era. Yesterday, I got a message from the band, and it honestly made my day. I listened to the new album on my way home, and once again, it completely blew my fucking mind. So, here’s a review of the latest from Decadence. DECADENCE - OUT OF THE MOUTH OF HELL (2025) Decadence (Andalusia, Spain)  deliver a dark and heavy release that captures the raw intensity of the European hardcore underground. Out of the Mouth of Hell is driven by aggressive riffs, crushing heaviness, and a hostile atmosphere, keeping things focused and direct. The tracks carry a strong sense of darkness, combining metallic heaviness with enough groove to keep the momentum moving. There is a dirty, edge throughout the release that gives it character and keeps...

BITTIN’ BACK - PIGS IN THE MUD (EP 2025)

Imagen
Hailing from the Basque Country, BITTIN’ BACK deliver a raw hardcore attack on Pigs in the Mud. The EP is driven by crushing riffs, heavy grooves and an aggressive vocal delivery that keeps the energy hostile from beginning to end. There’s a strong DIY spirit throughout, balancing an old-school hardcore attitude with a heavier, more contemporary edge. Short and direct, Pigs in the Mud is a solid release from a band that clearly understands the power of keeping hardcore raw and loud. BITTIN’ BACK - PIGS IN THE MUD Spotify Instagram

BEYOND MY RAGE - NEW LIFE, NEW STRUGGLE (Single) Sept. 9,2026

Imagen
Kota Kinabalu’s Beyond My Rage come through with a heavy dose of Malaysian beatdown hardcore on New Life, New Struggle. Built around a hostile groove, crushing weight and a raw, street-level hardcore attitude, the track captures the pressure of living through struggle without losing your will to fight. The lyrics focus on pain, loyalty, betrayal and starting over while carrying the scars of the past. It’s tough, pissed-off and unapologetic beatdown hardcore with a dark edge and plenty of mosh fuel. A strong preview of their upcoming New World Chaos full-length. Immortality - I Think Therefore I Am (2001) Beatdown / Death Metal from Kobe, Japan

Imagen
Formed in Kobe, Japan around 2000, IMMORTALITY were one of the darker and heavier names to emerge from the Japanese hardcore underground at the turn of the millennium. Their sound fused the blunt-force groove and physicality of beatdown hardcore with the brutality and darker atmosphere of death metal, creating a punishing hybrid that was difficult to categorize but impossible to ignore. IMMORTALITY delivered a seriously heavy statement with I Think Therefore I Am, a four-track release that captures the darker, more metallic side of early-2000s beatdown hardcore. The riffs are thick and abrasive, moving between crushing mid-tempo grooves, heavy breakdowns and bursts of aggressive metallic intensity without losing the raw physicality of hardcore. I Think Therefore I Am is the kind of release that fits perfectly into the darker side of the early Japanese hardcore/beatdown underground. Por Cada Enemigo - Betrayer (August 29, 2026) REVIEW

Imagen
Coming out of Mexico City, Por Cada Enemigo represent a hard-edged strain of Mexican hardcore built around loyalty, confrontation and perseverance. Their approach is direct and unapologetic, channeling the frustrations, rivalries and personal struggles that have always been part of hardcore culture. With a message centered on standing firm and refusing to back down, Por Cada Enemigo continue to carry the spirit of the CDMX hardcore scene with conviction. POR CADA ENEMIGO - BETRAYER EP Betrayer, a 3 songs EP that keeps things direct, aggressive and deeply rooted in hardcore’s sense of loyalty and confrontation. From the opening moments of Forjado en Odio, the band establishes a pissed-off mentality built around perseverance, brotherhood and the scars left by past experiences. The title track, Betrayer, pushes the confrontational side even further, focusing on broken loyalty and the consequences of choosing the wrong side. Closing with Siempre Fuertes, the EP shifts toward resilience wit...

Blunt Force Trauma - Vengeance For Nothing (2012)

Imagen
Blunt Force Trauma’s Vengeance For Nothing is a straight-up slab of heavy, groove driven hardcore. Originally released in 2012, the EP leans heavily into the 90s beatdown mentality, with thick guitar work, stomping rhythms, brutal breakdowns and vocals delivered with a raw, confrontational edge. There’s a noticeable death metal influence in the vocals and overall heaviness, but the heart of the release remains firmly rooted in hardcore. GREATSWORD NW - Punish Game (Single EP August, 2026)

Imagen
Olympia, Washington’s GREATSWORD NW deliver a nasty dose of stripped-down beatdown hardcore with Punish Game. Built on thick, stomping riffs, mosh & heavy grooves and a hostile attitude, this is the kind of hardcore that doesn’t waste time trying to impress, it’s here to hit hard. GREATSWORD NW keep things firmly rooted in the oldschool beatdown mentality, where the riff comes first and every groove feels engineered for maximum pit damage. There’s a rawness that recalls the tougher side of late ’90s hardcore. Punish Game is short, mean and straight to the point. GREATSWORD NW are definitely a band worth keeping an eye on.
